Introducing the #WTFFund! Kamath shared in a social media post that young entrepreneurs under 22 can now secure funding and guidance in sectors like home, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.

Currently, eligible entrepreneurs can apply to be a part of the WTFFund program, which is accepting applications until October 16, 2023. Under Nikhil Kamath’s leadership, the program will shortlist two startups, each receiving a funding of 40 lakh rupees.

In a recent podcast episode where Kamath discussed building a brand in the mentioned sectors, he stated, “Funding these entrepreneurs under 22 is usually a tough task as they are essentially in the 0 to 1 journey.”

The podcast episode featured Anant Narayanan, founder of Mensa Brands, Kishore Biyani, founder of Future Group, and Raj Shamani, founder of House of Ek. Alongside Kamath, these three guest winners will also invest 10 lakh rupees in each of the winning startups.

This move comes as Kamath and Abhijit Pai’s venture capital firm, Gruhas Nivas, recently launched a startup fund for brands and products in the consumer-facing space. The fund will invest up to one million dollars in its specific investments, with around 10 startups in its portfolio.

Zerodha’s co-founder is also venturing into the startup ecosystem, partnering with electric vehicle manufacturer Ether Energy and gaming unicorn Nazara Technologies in recent months. Earlier this year, Kamath also invested in the green hydrogen startup, Ossus BioRenewables.
